At the close of our St John the Evangelist 125th Anniversary Year Celebrations, our Committee confirmed that all funds collected specifically for this event exceeded the final expenses for all Celebrations. The Committee decided to share this money in two meaningful ways, one of those in the form of 2 $300 scholarships (1 Female/1 Male ) to be awarded to two graduating high school level students - one male and one female - belonging to and participating in the faith life of St John's Parish. These "one-time continuing education" Scholarships are in memory of all St John's Parish members over these 125 years. In the weeks ahead, eligible St John's Parish students will be invited to apply for consideration for these Scholarships which we expect to be awarded in June.
After evaluating numerous applications, we are delighted to announce that Caitlin Keohane of North Chelmsford and Glenn Clawson of Tyngsboro were each judged to receive these $300 scholarships. Caitlin will be entering Fontbonne University in Missouri, while Glenn will be enjoying his freshman year at the University of Massachusetts here in Lowell.
Both of these students excelled at activities related to parish life, spiritual and community service involvement —all while achieving academic honors. These one time scholarships were developed in memorial honor of all St. John's Parishioners over our history spanning the period of 1893 through 2018.
Congratulations to Caitlin and Glenn for their devotion to St John's Parish and their service to our community!
