Mass Intentions
If you would like to request that a Mass be celebrated for a specific intention or person, please call the parish office. A donation of $10 is suggested to be made at the time that you schedule your intention. The 2021 Mass Intentions Calendar will open on August 24th. Due to the reduced Mass schedule, and the popularity of scheduling a Mass Intention for a loved one, the following procedures needed to be put into place.
PLEASE READ THE BELOW GUIDELINES CAREFULLY BEFORE CALLING TO SCHEDULE YOUR INTENTION(S).
The first weekend, Friday-Sunday, of every month is earmarked as a Multiple Intention Weekend. Mass Intentions on this weekend can be scheduled as follows:
- Up to 10 intentions will be scheduled per…
* Friday 7 am St. Mary and 9 am St. John daily Masses
* Saturday 4 pm and Sunday 11 am St. Mary Masses
* Saturday 4 pm and Sunday 9:30 am St. John Masses
- No stipend is required for these Mass intentions
- Sunday St. Mary 7 am Mass is strictly reserved for the People of the Parish
- St. John 6 pm Mass is strictly reserved for the People of the Parish
There is a LIMIT of 4 Mass intentions per person, per calendar year.
This is a COMBINATION of single and multiple Mass intentions.
A Spiritual Bouquet
This is an enrollment given to the family for Masses to be celebrated in memory of, or in honor of a person. There are two types of Spiritual Bouquet offerings:
A Spiritual Bouquet from the Archdiocese of Boston is directed by The Society of Propagation of the Faith. The loved one—deceased or living—is enrolled as a member of the Society and for 10 years, a daily Mass is celebratedin the Vatican Basilica, Rome.
The Chelmsford Catholic Collaborative also offers their own Spiritual Bouquet. A deceased loved one can be enrolled into the Spiritual Society of either parish. A Mass is celebrated for them once a month for ten years in that parish for all members of the Spiritual Society.
Sanctuary Fund
The parishes of Saint Mary and Saint John the Evangelist have established a Sanctuary Fund. If you wish to remember a loved one with a gift for the parish, we ask that you prayerfully consider the fund. Monetary gifts will be used to purchase sacred vessels, vestments and other sacred furnishings, which will enhance the Sacred Liturgy and beautify the worship space. If you are interested in making a gift towards this fund, please contact the parish office.
Sacrament of Reconciliation
EXPERIENCE PEACE AND LOVE: If you haven’t been to Confession in a while, the Catholic Church wants to welcome you back, and invites you to participate in this beautiful sacrament of healing. Take a step in faith. You’ll be surprised about how free you feel after taking part in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. So many Catholics describe incredible feelings of peace, joy, relief, and love that they never expected. Jesus is calling you to experience His mercy in this way too.
NEW 'SOCIAL DISTANCING' PROCEDURE for CONFESSIONS
Please enter the parking lot through marked entrance and follow the traffic flow to the horseshoe drive in the front of the church, where you will be directed to enter the church. Please put on your mask prior to exiting your car. Lot Attendants will be available to assist you to the confessional, which is an L-shaped Plexiglas barrier, offering a clear view on one side, and a 'blurred' side, which will allow for a 'private' confession, where the priest and confessor will be unable to see each other.
DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, ALL INDOOR ADORATION IS SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Parking Lot Adoration is held at St. John parking lot every Friday from 4:00 - 5:00 pm unless otherwise cancelled via communications that are sent via Flocknote and/or bulletin.
